Inspired by Embrun, a little village in the French Alps.

Some places stay with you long after you’ve returned home.

For us, it was Embrun — a charming little village nestled in the French Alps, where warm terracotta buildings, weathered shutters and mountain sunshine create the most beautiful pallet of colours. It was there that Colette‘s story began.

Lovingly restored in the Dilly Dally workshop, Colette is an original Victorian farmhouse sideboard, thoughtfully refurbished and hand-painted in a rich terracotta pink inspired by the timeless beauty of Embrun. Her beautifully aged solid pine top has been carefully preserved celebrating the craftsmanship and character that only time can create.

With six generous drawers, a charming central cupboard and a smaller upper drawer, Colette offers exceptional storage while becoming a beautiful focal point in your home. Whether she’s placed in a kitchen, dining room or hallway, she’s ready to begin a wonderful new chapter.

The Dilly Dally story

At Dilly Dally, we believe the best Furniture already has a story. Every piece we choose has lived a life before arriving at our Yorkshire workshop. We restore each one with care, respecting their history while giving it a fresh future. We don’t aim to make old furniture look new, we celebrate its craftsmanship, its character and the marks that tell it story. Colette is an original Victorian farmhouse piece lovingly refurbished rather than replaced, ensuring her story continues for generations to come.

Character and Authenticity

Like all Vintage furniture, Colette may carry the occasional gentle reminder of her past. These subtle signs of age aren’t imperfections, they’re part of what makes her completely unique.

The warm terracotta tones of Colette were inspired by the beautiful Alpine Village of Embrun where colourful buildings, weathered timber and mountain light left a lasting impression on one of our travels.
